Flew my new Doyle APC asym today for the first time - what a blast! 7 knots boat speed with 9 knots 120 degrees apparent wind. For the sheet blocks, I used snatch blocks shackled to the stern docking cleats. Although it worked, they're too far aft and inboard. I called Catalina and spoke to Gerry Douglas, who said they shouldn't be attached to the stern pulpit (would give the right sheet angles), and recommended backed, deck-mounted padeyes. I can't see a good place to put padeyes that wouldn't interfere with the genoa foot blocks, yet still give the appropriate angle to the sail and the sheet winches. What have others done?
