There has been a lot of discussion on this site over the years about what is the "best" boat to go ocean sailing in. Although I continue to believe that "size matters," at least two noted designers have built 10-ft boats to circumnavigate in. I congratulate these designers, but personally have no plans to sail around the world in a boat this size....

My aching back

Whoever circumnavigates in these will be of top physical condition for sure. My back would kill me after a week of being unable to stretch out.

I lived for a year and a half in a 28x8 house trailer

and that wasn't so bad. I have friends that lived aboard a 27 foot O'Day for five years and then they moved ashore and got married. But living in my Volvo wagon and traveling across the country without ever getting out would seem a bit much. Noon to noon travel would never exceed 75 nm so probably they are looking at 400 days at sea. Just looked at their routes Some very long passages . The boats are being designed for 60 days of provisions.
