Since the Hunter 23.5 comes with a non enclosed head, does this create an aroma problem, especially on a hot day?? I don't know if it comes with an enclosed head as an option, however, am trying to weigh the value of enclosed versus non enclosed.
Define "head". Trust your nose, it will tell you when you have an aroma problem. Open the hatch and portholes and don't linger. No scientific study or research grant needed for this one.
I think he means it has a portapotty under the berth
There isn't room on a 23' boat for an enclosed head...there's barely room for a self contained toilet (portapotty)...which is fine. If maintained properly, there won't be any odor.
Port-o-poty is easier to maintain than an enclosed head and you will have less smell from it.... regular marine heads with holding tank usually have their own personal smell...
I have a Sani-Potty in the enclosed head of my H-26. I use an RV-type Porta-Potty deodorant at about double the recommended dose. After the boat and the head were used (peeing only) by 3 adults for a long day sailing, I forgot to empty the Sani-Potty. After two weeks out of town and 85-90 degree heat, I dreaded returning to face the "music" Guess what??? No appreciable odor, even in the enclosed head! The deodorant was the key!BrianW
