We've put four or fove area rugs in various areas. Some came with rubber backing and we put non-skid stuff on the back of the others. Looks classy, but they have fringes which are slippery on the gloss sole (I haven't decided yet to trim off the fringes but think I'd better), so we substitute a couple of ruberize backed bath mats when we're cruising. This doesn't cover the whole sole, but we like the appearance, and it covers most "critical" areas.

I am also using rubber backed bath rugs on sole of my 30T. No fringe on edges. They work wonderfully and are really helpful at bottom of ladder. Especially helpful when sailing as they give a firm footing and I have never had a slipping problem when going below while boat is healed.
