Does anyone know if the belt for a WP30 is the same as the one for a WP32? I found an entry in the archives where someone found a cheap source for the WP30 belt (Motion Industries part number: 10AT5/825) that was only about $12 and I was wondering if they would also work on a WP32. Anyone try them? Thanks

The belt on the WP30 is like a white or off white color. I think the two machines are basicly the same as far as the belt driving sysyem goes. When ordering a belt from motion Industries the order had to be for 3 belts, a friend ordered the belts and I bought 1 from him, cost for the belt and shipping it to me was $16 ( us). I have pics of the unit apart I can fax them to you if you want. Al Duquette s/v Mast Confusion 87 Newport 30 MKlll

I went the motion industries' route
to get a replacment belt for my wp30. they have an office in Seattle area. When I tried to order the belt using the model number someone posted, it couldn't get the belt in the exact length (825cm) went next size longer and it was too long. For about $180 Simrad is now doing a reapir/upgrade for the 30 and 32 models, with a new clutch design and new belt design. Anyway I pick up the unit tomorrow. My belt started to shred after about 3 years and about 200 -300 hours of WP use.

I found a place right in Toronto to order them: MOTION CANADA 200 QUEENS QUAY EAST 416) 465-8250 Part Number: 10AT5/825 They cost about $20CDN which is a heck of a lot better than the price Simrad charges.
