Good evening all. I removed, cleaned, lubricated, and reinstalled my winches this past week before discovering this link.

It's a good thing that I removed them as there was no sealant on any of the eight FHMSs. Also, the old grease had completely seized my winches. There are no bearings so I opted to lightly lubricate the plastic bushing with Aero Kroil. I also replaced the fender washers with backing plates I cut from synthetic decking (Trex).
Now that I know how the winches are disassembled This maintenance job will take less than fifteen minutes per year to accomplish. Steve
