Arch mounted davits

I have seen
I have seen arch davits that Hunter makes for the Hunter 38 and bigger models,
but I think maybe the arch on the H-33 may not be strong enough to support
the weight of davits and a dinghy.
I had asked about the arch davits that Hunter makes $$$$$, they thought that it would be border line for davits on my Hunter 36 arch.
Prices on davits mounted off the stern are not too bad,try shopping around.

I installed Ocean Marine davits on my 290; not having a lot of waterline, we were being bogged down towing our dinghy. The davits attach to the transom seats, not directly to the arch. We had absolutely no problems and improved our sailing experience immeasurably. $1,500 for their SD40 system, with cams added.
I would still like a davit system high enough so I can still use the transom entrance, even with ducking a bit. My dealer says my 08 Hunter 33 Arch is strong enough. I wrote to Hunter almost 3 weeks ago and still no reply. My dealer has also inquired,but also no reply yet.

I just saw a custom built davits on a custom arch on a 30 ft sail boat but he did not have the dinghy on it.
I am wondering if you added davits to the 33 arch that it would be kind of high and block the view out the stern.
I see plenty of davits on all size sailboats off the stern even with the stern backed into the dock.
I love having my stern backed in at the dock and it makes it so easy for everyone
to get on or off the boat,hsve not figured what to do with the dinghy with many different ways to put it I guess,every thing is still new here for us in Florida and different type of docking than when we were in NY.
I am waiting to see how things go before I install davits or not or do some thing else,but if I decide on davits I would go with what JAVA has on his 356 and similar set up on other sailboats.

I installed the Hunter series 40 stainless davits on the arch of my 38 and have been well satisfied. I ran a 1 inch tube across the davit arms from port to starboard and mounted two 85 watt solar panels. Everything is holding together after three years and several thousand miles. I do not believe this series davit would fit on the arch of your 33.

Ocean Marine Davits on 36
I installed Ocean Marine Davits on my 2004 36. They have now made one round trip from San Francisco to the Sea Of Cortez with the Walker Bay 10 dingy with no problems. The only change to Java's setup that I had to do was to move the stern light from the rear rail to the back of the boat as the dingy blocked it when raised.

How much did the davits cost, and how much was shipping? Did you buy directly from Hunter or through a dealer?
We also have a Hunter 38 and have been searching for arch mounted davits for sometime with no luck. Did you purchase these directly from Hunter? Can you provide a point of contact? Photos?
