I have a new name to put on the transom but boat is in the water. Any suggestions on how to do it?

If it is a typical boat name vinyl sticker, like the sort sold by Boat US among others, it's a pretty easy job with tape to hold it in position and then peel off.

soapy water and some tape, you should be good. I did most of mine from the water, sitting in a bowline, the wife helped and stood by just in case.

A dinghy helps, or if you can tie off to the transient dock or a T head for an hour or so at your marina.

My boat is in about 8 feet of water so no standing in it . Getting a row boat on a calm day may work. I have a ceiling over my motor so it would be awkward to lay across there.

One thing to include is a plastic scraper to help get the soapy water out and air pockets as well. Include several paper towels.

If in a marina with floating docks you can back in, or if close enough at high tide on fixed docks.

I do have floating docks and thought about sitting there to do it but if anyone walks by, then I go for a ride. Still, may try that.

We put ours on the transom, floating docks. What you may not yet realize, and it should come in the instructions, is that you have a short period of time to move it around before it sets. It is NOT like formica cement, for example. Good luck.

As GeorgiaBll said! Even though my slip was 7 feet deep, I took my boat to a nearby shallow area, stern to shore. I was able to safely work on the transom in knee-deep water. I was even able to remove my outboard this way. BrianW

That is what I was trying to suggest.... Guess I didn't use enough words! Thanks!
