I have used Dexalay ( liked the yellow look but it did not seem to last long), Cetol (the old orange sort) and bought some Teak Shield but have not used yet becuase of the its two-part nature. I have heard good things about Smiths, Teak Honey etc. I would like some input for reasons below in the previous post. Thanks Jim W

I have been using Smith & Co. "Clear Penetrating Epoxy Sealer and then their Polyurethane for the last eight years with excellent results. If you follow his instructions and apply the CPES and then the poly correctly you will get years of high gloss finish. In fact its called the fiveyearclear. See their link below.

Smiths was a great seller at local West Marine until....

...they put the boot in on manager buys. I guess big bidness does not want competition (i.e. free enterprise). Similar story with IG and many other companies. However, I looked up Smith's website and may try some for myself over my own sealer? Roll up Roll up- any more examples? Jim W

Teak treatment

Don't know what my favorite is, but I can say that Cetol is NOT it. Too soft, doesn't last, somehow allows water in, with the resulting black streaks.
