Just wondering if anyone has any real world feedback on either the C or the hybrid touch E series MFDs? I am intrigued with the Wifi/bluetooth integration so I can use my iPad as a Repeater down below. I currently have all RM equipment including Seatalk NG, digital radar and a P70, so sticking with Ray makes most sense. I know I can create my own wifi setup via NMEA and a mux, but not sure I want to go that route, especially given RMs existing apps for mirroring...thanks in advance for any feedback...
Anyone with feedback on New Ray Marine C or E series?

I installed the e95, i70, i60, digital HD radar, and AIS just recently. I tested everything, including WiFi with my iPad. Everything works as advertised, including integration with legacy autopilot and course computer, ST60, and RL chartplotter. So far, so good.
Thanks for the feedback Paul. Do you like the Hybrid Touch aspect of the e95? I had no interest in a touch screen only screen as on the previous e series, but sounds like hybrid gives the best of both worlds?
I installed three of the new e series touch units last season and one out of the three failed requiring a warranty repair.. They are okay units but are very typical of Raymarine's poor user interface (when compared to Garmin, Simrad or Lowrance). If you already have a Raymarine system integration is easier but not inexpensive either...
They also no longer supply a nice owners manual like they used to and they send you a CD Rom instead.... Be aware that they will not work with legacy ST-60 unless you have the conversion kit or an AP with both SeaTalk ng and legacy SeaTalk on the dist bus for the AP.
You will likely need the ST1 to STNG Adapter Kit part # E22158 to get it to work with any old ST-60 instruments you may have..
Also the power data cable has a HUGE video plug on it that makes it impossible to fit down a pedestal guard tube. It needs to be cut off but re-splicing this cable is probably not an option as it is teeny tiny.... So essentially the video camera capability is out the window for most sailors mounting a plotter at the helm...

I do have the integration kit installed and integrated with my P70, ST60+, digital radar and SPX-10 core pack which is the only reason why I would consider sticking with RM. my current C90W also has the lame CD ROM manual, but I've put all of my manuals on my iPad. Curious if the units you installed have the new Lighthouse interface? From playing with that interface at the boat shows, seems like a step in the right direction. I personally have always preferred Garmin's UI, but since I I have the ST NG integration I'll be living with RM for now....
gee, my Simrad uses standard coax and a BNC connector-readily available and installable on site - just ran the coax (1/4" dia) from the bow and up into the pedastel, crimped on the connector and done. What is RM thinking???
There is no right or wrong on these things since it is often a personal preference regarding user interface and features. Personally, I like the RM Lighthouse interface. I find it easy to use. I also like the Hybrid Touch; I often use both the uni-stick button and the touch screen at the same time to quickly go where I need to go. I also love the interface with the iPad.
The manuals reside on both my iPad and on the RM MFD itself. You can view the manual and a chart or radar on a split screen at the same time. Good way to learn the details, but often it is not needed. I found that one good read through was good enough for me for most features and functions.
Integration with legacy ST60s and my 10 year old AP was easy. Used the converter Maine Sail mentioned. Got it for less than $100. Also integrated the new stuff with my old analog transducers (wind, speed, temp, depth) with no problem, using the RM iTC-5.
Personally, I like my setup. (Of course, everyone typically likes what they already have ... can't admit to a mistake, can we?). But this may be a personal thing. I know folks who love their Garmins, Farunos, etc. Go with what you have and enjoy.
Thanks for the feedback Paul. As I mentioned, I also have a completely integrated RM setup with converter, Etc. I am also intrigued with the ability to get the adapter bezel so the cutout of my Navpod would not need any modification. Like most new electronics their is always a good chance of bugs in the SW. I know they have already released an update for the Lighthouse code.
