Towing a skiff
Joe, We went through this last year on this list and by the responses not many of the 'advisers' had much esperience in this area of expertise...When I started sailing we used wooden tenders, then FRP, and then 'rubber' dingys, then 'Hyperlon' sportboats. I am an old seaman and like tried and true methods, nevertheless I was first to embrace the Zodiac as did the USCG. The answer to your question is one you will not like, but wait awhile and someone who does not know will certainly be along here to tell you it is fine. Now in New Zealand, I spent lotta time sailing there, they love wood, and do have wood tenders, but either carry them in davits, aboard (obviously on foredeck) or against their stern with fenders and webbing or "arms" under the dink. I would recommend an infaltable, a 'Redcrest' even as tender, You can have the skiff too for fun?
