In the RV-ing world they have a rule of thumb for tow vehicle wheel base. One should have 110" of wheel base for the first 20' of trailer and an additional 4" of wheelbase for every foot of trailer above 20' including the hitch portion - this helps prevent the tail from wagging the dog. I also agree with above that the tow vehicle should be heavier than the trailer. Safety should be the first priority with any tow package combination. It's your life - what is it worth to you!
