I'm trying to find a yardstick handicap number to give me an idea how they go but can only see the Cherubini flavor. Anyone have any experience of racing one, or racing against one? Hopefully yours prospective H30 owner Patrick Randall

My 1989 base PHIF is.....

Mt 1989 Hunter 30 rates a 186, with a furling credit(~-6 sec) and folding prop penalty(~+3sec).

John, and how do you do on that rating and on the water against other similar sized boats? (I'm from England and have not seen one sail yet) Patrick

Here's what I can tell you...

Hey Patrick, I just moved to this new club/harbor this year that is very close to the local racing scene. Anyway, because of my wifes schedule this season, I have not had any time to race the boat. But from what the racing committee guys tell me, the 186 rating is quite generous. As far as how the boat moves, I think the tall fractional rig should give you some advantages over other similar cruising class boats.
