Modular Bunk Glide On's (Black)
Part #86295
TieDown Enginering put these out. We have used the 2X4 version on our junior program coach boats and they work well for them. The carpet is gone again on my 2X6 bunks and thought I'd try them there too. They were about $70 at West Marine. Should be easier to get the boat up to the bow stop they last longer than carpet but I will definitly have to tie down the stern from now on.
Self centering bunk glide on’s with interlocking modular sections. Designed to fit various bunk board lengths. Ideal for painted, fiberglass, or aluminum boats.
• Fits Two 2”x 6”x 8’ Bunk Boards
• Kit Includes: 4- 1 ft. End Sections, 4 -3 ft. Sections & 3/4” Stainless Steel Self Tapping Screws

I did when it was time to replace the carpet. They seem to work well and don't hold water (saltwater here) I used another brand from a boat shop - they were much cheaper than those. You might look around.

I had them on my pontoon trailer, they worked great and as Mike B said, they don't trap salt water.

They work fine on a power boat where you drive up on the trailer, and the bunks are flat. Most sailboat trailer bunks are curved, and we, or at least I, float my boat onto the trailer, so carpet works just fine.

Thanks Rick........ I need to cover mine and these look great.
It would be nice if I could make it down this year for B.E.E.R.regata.

for fiberglass?

I read about these here for the first time last week. Today I was at the boat launch checking out my engine after repair and maint. work. Watched a large fiberglass boat launch and when I pulled out I stopped to look at the aluminum trailer design. The first thing I noticed though was these same bunk rails were on it. The next thing I notices was white steaks on both rails. One side about a foot from the tail end and the other about 2' long. I presume since the boat was white this came off the bottom? Perhaps it was a hard trailering situation ? But if that was paint transfer,,,not good.
