Anyone install the EzSteer?

Has anyone installed and used the EzSteer system?Basically, it is a pivoting rod that is ganged from the back of the rudder to your outboard motor. The motor can be raised and lowered with the rod attached.As the rudder turns, the motor turns too. It sounds attractive, but sometimes in practice.....Anyways their web link is www.ezsteer.com. Craig, My 240 has one

and it makes getting in and out of our tight slip easy. The one difference is the unit on my 240 must be removed from the motor to raise it. This doesn't bother me because it is a snap ball set-up with a spring loaded locking cover. If my boat didn't have the motor turning with the rudder I would not be able to get her in the slip.JohnKarly Sue 2

I got one last season for my 2001 H260

I bought an EZ-Steer and installed it last spring. (My first mod.) It was quite pricey, and my local "rep" had to special order it. It was easy to install and made a world of difference on getting into and out of our slip. I no longer have to appologize to the folks accross and beside me! I really wouldn't suggest it to someone else though. It is too costly. You could make something similiar yourself that works just as good. I decided to pay the extra cost since I am only moderatly handy and it was the first thing I was doing to my new boat. It worked great all season. The decision is sort of like the poll they have this week: "Do you use a creditcard or a wrench for repairs and upgrades?"
