Hi All, I've been crewing in one design races (26' Thunderbirds) for the past couple years and the racing bug has got a little bit under my skin. Last season I entered my very first PHRF race with my H260 (that is a story by itself). Anyway, my club doesn't discriminate between jib sizes. A 90%, 130% to 150% are all considered equal, and "You are welcome to go buy a genoa to be competitive" is the race committee's argument. A drifter -- the most logical sail addition for my boat -- is considered a Spinnaker and can't be used in the non-spinnaker "fun races" that my club sponsores. Before infected by the race bug, I've maintained a cruising mentality and use my hank on 100% jib as supplied by Hunter. If the wind falls off or heads up, I use the 4 cylce "iron genny"... Hey, its quiet and it needs to be broken in anyway (after all, It's going on its 5th year). So, finally, I get to the point: I'd like to hear from people experienced with using a 135% genny on a H26 or H260. How does the boat perform? Where are your sheet blocks attached? Did you mount a genoa track? Ideally, a track should be used for a genny, But I'd prefer to mount a fixed block at a "pretty good" location. My guess is that location would be close to the winches, maybe a little aft and outside. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks for any feedback, Tom
