Anyone Famiiar With This Charter Company

My wife was researching BVI charters for the winter and go a quote from www.bviyc.com which seemed decent.

I told her I would ask the board if anyone has had experience with them before we proceed further.

What say ye??

I haven't had any experice with them but I have chartered with Conch Charters at BVI. The people at Conch were very good. If I decide to go to BVI again I would go with Conch Charters again. www.conchcharters.com Their boats are a little older but everything worked as it should and sailed real nice. They checked us out in the boat and told us "see you in a week".

We have used The Moorings the last 2 Marches...BVI and St Marteen area for 11 day cruises on 46' Cats. We have found them to be very supportive and organized. I would use them again, they also bought out Sunsail I believe. Whoever you rent from, make sure you go through your checklist BEFORE you leave the dock....use hose for leaking windows, make sure the heads work, gas in the propane tanks (x2, 1 for bbq and 1 for stove), etc.

I have no direct experience with bviyc but I would recommend booking through Ed Hamilton yacht charters. They are like a travel agent for chartering. They will find you the best deal with a reputable company.

With regard to your question!!!! We chartered a boat a year ago this month and our experience was good. A group of eight for a week on an 2006 Lagoon 44. The boat was nice, clean, and offered plenty of room. No major issues. The staff was extremely helpful when we needed help with some self inflicted hick ups. Would certainly recommend them.
