The stock Jabsco head that came with my Hunter 340 is about to shoot craps (heh-heh-heh) and I am thinking about getting a new head. In past posts, Peggy, The Head Mistress, has recommended the Raritan Cricket. So, I called Raritan tech support to ask if the Cricket bolt pattern is the same as the Jabsco bolt pattern at the base of the unit. Unfortunately, it is not. Not really wanting to drill new holes in the floor for new bolts, I was told by the Raritan tech support guy (very nice guy, BTW) that I might want to consider buying a Raritan SeaEra electric flush model ---- that has the same bolt pattern as the standard Jabsco. My wife and daughters would love THIS! Question 1: Has anyone purchased a SeaEra model and if so, what has been your experience with installation and with reliability? Question 2: Where can I get one at a substantial discount to list price? West Marine is only 10-15% off. Anyone have a cheaper source? Question 3: Will an electric flush model tend to fill the holding tank faster than a hand pump? The electric flush from Raritan can be preset to pump the numbers of seconds it would take to move waste from the head to the tank. For example, it pumps at 1.5 ft. per second. It the line is 15 ft. to the tank, you could pre-set the head to flush for 10 seconds. Since I am on a fresh water lake, I don't want to fill it too much faster and have to pay for more pumpouts and have to pump sooner. Any thoughts? Thanks for your advice. Even though you're on a fresh water lake...

if you go with the pressurized flush water option, both the AH and flush water consumption will be reduced considerably...plus, it'll be a LOT quieter. And if if you opt for the conversion kit--which allows you to re-use your existing bowl and seat--instead of the complete toilet, it'll cost a lot less, too. However, if you buy the complete toilet you can specify the "highboy" bowl, which is very close to household size. All the specs for the SeaEra are on the Raritan website at http://www.raritaneng.com Go to the Installation, Operation and Maintenance Guide (owners manual in .pdf format) for the power and flush water specs. I like the SeaEra a lot, btw.
