I have a 2007 SilverMarine 250 PVC dinghy with a slat floor that I got as a closeout from I-boats.com. I only paid about $359.00 for it and as for ocassional use as a trailer sailor it is just fine. Easy to handle on deck and still looks great after three years. The tube size is 14" and is smaller than most inflatables and you can really tell it in choppy waters. As a dink for a single hander, it will fit the bill.
For two people all the time, I would go with a dink with the larger tube size. I actually picked up a 2006 Mercury 270 hypalon for a song, needed lots of cleanup but it is much more stable on the water with passengers.
I plan on keeping my SM dink for when I go single handing because it is so much easier to handle by myself and fits perfectly on my foredeck.
