Dealer Cost of Options

The typical wholesale to retail markup is 100%. This is called a 50% gross operating margin, i.e., if an item costs $100 at wholesale and sells for $200 at retail, the profit margin is $100 divided by $200 or 50%. There are exceptions to this, but it is a place to start at.

..depending on the item. Most are accessory items added non-factory. When I purchased my boat, I was offered 15% over cost as part of the deal and it made a difference in my purchase decision since I wanted a lot. I wouldn't expect a dealer to necessarily offer a similar deal. After all, they front the cost, and have to do the legwork to aquire and install the stuff which is time and money. I think the best deal is that which you can live with and have the confidence you paid a fair price. You can always check around and compare after-market prices. Rick D.

What item could they possibly sell

you that WM doesn't also sell. The only thing that is unknown is the cost of the hull, interior finishout, and whatever else is proprietary as to Hunter. As far as A/c,refrigeration, electronics, rigging, or anything else that a dealer can source, I would find it hard to believe that it is not in the WM catalog. Therefore look in the WM catalog to see the worst case price. I realize that this cost does not include installation but it will isolate the labor cost and tell you if they employ only rocket scientist.
