Anybody ever have THIS problem?

When cruising at night in my '79 C30, I have noted that when I turn on the running lights, I loose my engine instruments!! I know theres a short there somewhere, but thought that this might me another one of those "Catalina things" that can be corrected with something easier than chasing a short???

A poor ground is probably the cause.

A short is the type of event that makes a lot of sparks and smoke. It also drains the battery REAL fast.A poor connection or a poor ground will cause lights to dim or quit working. Simply clean all contacts and you should be back in business. Bad connections are a frequent item in a salt water environment.Happy scraping, Ray
