I finally got enough time on a weekend to definitively determine the problem with my marine air system is the controller board - I'm waiting until Monday to call the distibutor - the system is 8 years old, so I'm not too eager to put much money into it - has anyone replaced the system board (the part with the triac and chips on it that controls the fan and compressor and water pump) recently? wondering about the price - anybody got any wisdom or tips on this - it seems a fairly simple controller board as those things go, so I might try repair if it is too expensive to replace. Thoughts?

What model digital control or what is the part number on the printed circut board you have. The controls from Marine Air where not always upward compatiable. I might have the board you are looking for if I know the display you have. O_salt

Its the Passport digital control

Its the passport digital control - the circuit board has the words " cabin mate " followed by a number - I left the board with the local distributor over the weekend so he could look it up on Monday, so I can't give you the exact number - the unit is a 16k btu, cool/reverse heat, about 7-8 years old. I am concerned it was manufactured during the time Marine air was changing from a Passport I to a Passport II design, but having looked at their web site, its hard to tell the difference - I think it is a passport 1. Compressor and water pump run when powered independently, no power from line out on board when their should be.

Digital Control

I looked at the control I had, and it is before the Passport I, called the ECU. I don't think this will help you. Let me know if you can't find a replacement, I know of a real good Distributor / Dealer in my area. O_salt

For O_Salt - thanks

That ECU controller is a manual control for the Marine Air Systems unit - It might actually work, it just has a basic on/off switch, Heat/Cold selector and thermostat like a household central air unit - the Passport system has several features, such as humidity control that I would like to retain, but from what I understand, the Passport system is just an extra cost option on the Marine Air systems, the ECU type unit will work if you want "manual" control. Thanks for the help
