Any weekend stories?

Despite my promises to stay off a crowded and unsafe lake, Saturday blew up enough to get the casual boaters off the water, so out I went. Had a rail down good time for several hours. Any good stories from the holiday weekend? I saw a weather note somewhere talking about 70 mph gusts in the northeast. Tom Monroe Carlyle Lake

Not too Far

Not too far from you at Mark Twain Lake we had to break up a 12 boat raft-up about 10:30pm and head for the marina. Warnings of 60 mph winds. Had just got back when we caught just the edge of the storm with 30 mph winds. Chinese fire drill to get the boats into their slips but no damage. Other then that great weekend for sailing.

A bit of everything

Up in southern Wisconsin on Lake Michigan, we went from 40+ knot winds in the morning from the west with torrential downpours, to 20+ winds from the south with keeping things cool even with full sun, to 10-15 from the south making things perfect followed by a dramatic shift to 25+ from the west (which made it feel like you were standing in front of a blast furnace), followed by dead calm right in time for the fireworks. A lot of everything for everyone.
