More than a few sailors that sail up here a Kettle Falls came from Ponderay in the last few years. There are probably 50 sailboats up here. I have sailed out of Bayview with friends and the common complaint is the lack of, or confused nature of the winds on the south end of Ponderay. The cost up here to trailer sail you boat is $200 a year!!!! We leave the boats on the trailer full rigged and launch at the marine. It takes less that 10 minutes to hook on the trailer and splash the boat. The same comming out and where we leave the boat/trailer when not in use has been quite safe. You can boat camp on the beaches anywhere on the river. It is close to the same drive time from Spokane. Seven Bays is even closer. If you want more info I can be found in the directory on this site.
