Any Suggestions - steering still stiff

will be removing the Cowl in the aft berth to reveal the Steering Cables and Quadrant
any suggestions on how to "loosen" the cables a bit, or will it be pretty self explanatory once I get into this,,,,
a good rainy day project! and Thanks!!

If you have Merriman steering

simialr to what is shown in the image below, it's a simle matter to loosen the steering cables. The two steering cables wind around each quadrant and then are brought forward and terminate in two locknuts. Just loosen the locknuts and you'll be able to adjust cable tension easily.

Coyote, here is what it looks like on an old H 34.. cable tension is adjusted just as Warren says..
