All I recently asked about an easy trailer sailor for a first time sailor. Thanks to all for your views. Now Im wondering about a 95 Hunter H26. I live in Omaha and need something on a trailer. I would primarily be doing weekend trips with the wife and kids. Also would like to do some trips up to the Great lakes when possible. I think 26ft sounds about right. I know very little about sailing and wonder if this is a good size to start with? Im also trying to ease my wife into the liveaboard life when the kids are gone so I want this to be a good experience for her and I dont think she would like to go much smaller. Also, any opinions on the model itself? (nightmare stories or things to watch out for) Thanks again for your patience

You've sure asked a mouthful of questions. First, there's just no way you can ask one little boat to answer all your needs. All boats have their pros and cons. Having a trailor sailor that is quick and easy to setup, and be able to handle cruising the Great Lakes, and make the Mrs happy with all the basics onboard, and be able to live aboard just aint gonna happen. Your gonna need at least 40' for a liveaboard and they don't trailor very well. I suggest you cut down the list of requirements and think more about the immediate needs. With time and experience you will refine your needs and the list of possible boats. Start with a trailor sailor that is easy to setup and learn how to sail in your local area. For the Great Lakes I would charter a boat and see how you like it.
