Any new MH-40 owners?

Checked my wallpaper yesterday. No stains or spots. A little sloppy in the installation in a couple of spots. Some of the "sideliner" fabric is buckling in both the forward and aft staterooms. Dealer will remedy this before commissioning.

The microwave in mine is a Haier. I can get you the model number if you wish.
Make sure the dealer uses the proper glue when they fix the wall paper. The wrong stuff can bleed through. All of my doors have this problem as well as the forward cabin bulkhead above the head door. The doors appear to have gotten worse since October, 2014 when I initially surveyed the boat and signed the purchase agreement. I attached a low resolution picture. It looks a lot worse. Hunter and the dealer are working to make this right. Just need to be sure the correct chemicals are used. The attached picture is an example of what is happening.
3/19/2015 Update -
The selling dealer came down to see what the damage was. Hunter and the dealer has agreed to pay to have the problem fixed. They hired a cabinet maker to make the repair, since the doors are actually put together like fine furniture. What was found on the doors, was a reddish color glue used. The color had bled through the vinyl. We believe the problem was 3-fold: The glue used had a red dye in it (this is used to help in the cleanup of over spray), the vinyl was applied before the glue was totally tack dry, and the doors were fit with so little tolerance (like fine furniture) there was no room for the glue to out-gas and fully cure. Anyhow the doors are being repaired with the new vinyl (and a clear/whitish) contact glue. Hunter was quick to send specs on all the chemicals, finishes, and glues. They gave the specification on the vinyl as well as sent enough of the stuff to do the whole boat if necessary. They also sent enough quarter-round to finish the doors after the panels were reinstalled. I am hoping to see the finished product this weekend.

Update on the splotching of the interior vinyl:
Working with the dealer and Marlow Hunter to get this remedied. Because this is not a regular issue Hunter has, they do not have a canned fix. I am working with a cabinet maker/master carpenter. He is working with the dealer and the dealer is working with Hunter. We had a conference call a few days ago with all the parties. The folks at the hunter mill and support (both named Ed) were direct and to the point - they want to get the problem fixed. More later.
Best of luck. It looks like you are getting the support you need and should have. Please keep us posted.

March 23, The doors were all fixed and reinstalled. The vinyl on the forward bulkhead around the head door was replaced. The 2013 Hunter 40 obviously had a rookie installing the vinyl. The offending vinyl had red colored glue holding it in place and white glue in all other places. The white continues to look appealing with no blistering or blotching (as expected). All the door vinyl was done with the red glue!! The styles that hold the panels in place were part of the rail, so they had to be routed out and replaced with quarter-round. A shame to do on an otherwise perfect piece of furniture. My cabinet guy did a great job, but we are short 2 pieces of quarter round for one of the salon doors (the long pieces had to be spliced).

Any photos would be appreciated. How did Hunter or the dealer do in respect to all of this?

The dealer did a great job supporting the repair. Hunter was not as much, although the dealer is probably sharing the pictures with Hunter. It is absolutely Hunters fault that the splotching occurred. I will let the dealer and Hunter work out the details. I used fine furniture maker to do the repair. He was about 150 miles away. Hunter sent trim to replace the styles that had to be milled out. The trim needed to be shaved by 3/8" to look right. I had the right guy working the project. The trim came up short for one door. Also the corner molding cracked on the bulkhead near the ceiling (where Hunter had pined it). Hunter is sending more replacement teak molding to replace the corner and finish the last door. I uploaded a picture of all the doors waiting for surgery and a picture of one door undergoing surgery. All the doors were done the same way. The red glue took between 15 and 18 months to bleed through. The bulkheads wee done in a white glue that look fine with the exception of one spot that was touched up with red glue. The rest of the vinal appeared to be attached with the white glue. There issue was simple, Hunter used the wrong glue. This cause a latent cosmetic quality issue that took over a year to show up. it had nothing to do with moisture, mold, teak tanning or any of the other hypothetical problems. The fix was labor intensive and required a skilled craftsman with the right tools to do correctly. This defect would have never been seen during the initial QA or during the owners acceptance walk through on a new boat. It was found because this was a dealer demo, and it had time to break down the vinyl and bleed through. Kudos and BZ to Tim Feagans at Empire Yacht Sales (FairPoint Marina, NY) for standing behind this Hunter yacht. By the way, the red glue was still soft as if it never set up correctly.

This is all very interesting. Congratulations on getting this resolved. Please keep us posted on any other developments.

The boat was splashed late on 4/17, the delay was because of mechanical issues at the yard - not the boat. The last issues resolved before slpashing: Bent lower furling foil - dealer was helpful in expediting replacement kit. Install was an all day affair because the removal of the bent parts required much cutting. The VHF cable had been cut by the original mast stepping (they crushed the wire). I replaced the wire with a custom built cable with a male end (antenna side) and female end (Cabin side), and pulled the wire through the port in the front of the mast rather than under the mast foot. The female connector barely made through the mast cable chase. The female connector allowed me to remove the F-F adapter that was originally on the cable.
Boat was sailed from Point lookout to Solomons on Saturday. She sails nice although the helm feels like there is a little slop that can be taken up. The yanmar started immediately (the tank received a pint of Seafoam when the boat was delivered). With winds approaching 2-4 knots, we motor-sailed the entire way. Total time for the trip (slip to slip) was 4 hours. Speed was between 7.6 and 7.8 knts depending on the gust. Great trip.
