Any info. on wing keel Catalina 25?

Wing Keel

Dick,I own a 28 with a wing keel and I think it is great. I don't see any differance except that my other boat drew more water. 3'10" on this one. The wing keel has more weight compared to the standard. 40% of the weight of my boat is in the keel which makes for a nice stable boat. As far as sailing close to the wind, technically I don't know practically I can't tell the differance.

Winged keel

I bought a 1989 Catalina 25 tall rig with a wing keel and a 9.9 hp Evinrude outboard in May. Top speed seems to be about 5 knots under power. It's a nice boat. The 2 ft. 8 in. draft has come in handy more than once.
