Couple of options

Tom, I sail my 260 on Rocky Fork Lake in SW Ohio (Hillsboro). It is a 2100 acre lake with a very active sailing club and docks. There are several 27' sailboats on the lake. Other options include Brookville Lake just off of I-74 at the Ohio-Indiana border and Alum Creek in Columbus. Not sure if you need/want shore power. If so, Erie might be your closest option.

Other than the Great Lakes, and good lake sailing in Ohio? I own a C27 and could end up moving there, probably Columbus but maybe Cincinnati. Any options open to me in those locations, or will I have to give her up? Tom Monroe Carlyle Lake

Yes, but. . . .

There are moderate sized lakes in the Columbus area but I have found that many will make the drive to sail on Erie. I know individuals who keep boats in both locations. I suppose it depends on personal preferences, time, and the usual ($$). Andy "Baroque"

Grand Lake

We live in Findlay Ohio and are about equal distances from Lake Erie and Grand Lake. We saild on Grand Lake for about 8 years before moving to the big water. Grand Lake is a nice big lake but you will need a shallow draft boat for this lake. There is a wonderful sailing club on the lake called the St.Marys Boat Club. Good people we were memeber's for a long time. It will take care of your fix and is a good lake to sail, But Lake Erie with it's Islands is worth the drive. Allot of people will drive 3 hours or more to sail on Lake Erie. For allot of friends in the Dayton area Lake Erie is worth the drive. If you want more info on Grand Lake let me know. Cliff

If in Columbus.......

take a look at Alum Creek. They have a web site http://www.alumcreeksailing.com/ACSAMain.aspx As Andy indicated, however, Lake Erie is close enough for weekends..... don't overlook Erie until you give it a try Jeff
