Travers Tapper

Has anyone had any experience with a "Superfurl" furling/reefing system. I am planning to add a roller furler to my Cat30 this winter and am researching all alternatives. Sad to say $$ are very high on the priority list. Thanks Travers

Travers: Check out the Spin-tec system in the Store. This is a system that is suppose to be installed by the owner and can be done in hour. Do not know how it compares in price but you should also consider that some systems really require a rigger, and these do not.

SUPERFURL ?

I installed a Superfurl on a Balboa 26 (1994) and it performed reasonably well. One problem was the furling sections are screwed together and the screws always loosened plus it is a fairly heavy furl. You may need to cut or lengthen your forestay. I would check out different furls next time around.

Sail Modification

You may need to modify your sail to fit in the slot of any furler, which is an additional cost that you might not have considered.
