We're thinking of expanding our fleet by purchasing a Boatex Model 800 (www.boatexltd.com). Just wondering if anyone has any experiences, good or bad with these boats. Can they handle more than the rated three adults? Is it worth the extra $$ for the sailing model? We would be keeping it on davits on our Hunter 34. Thanks, Gary

I Like Mine

Have had it for 5 seasons. Blistered badly after the first season, so I epoxied the bottom and have not seen one return. I have the sailing model and I use it at anchor. The kids like it, and it sails OK for its size limitations. I tow it and it rows very well, also motor with a 2.5. Its a tight squeeze with 2 adults and 2 children, but we manage in calm waters. They are not as stable as a R.I.B. Being fiberglass they scratch easy and show their bruises, but there very easy to repair. If your looking for indestructability consider the Walker 8 roto molded poly's. All in all I have been happy with mine, and your American dollar against the Canadian should get you a good price.
