I am a fan of the full canvas cover. Mine lasted through 10 Michigan winters before it finally committed suicide in high winds. Resorted to shrink wrapping this year because I couldn't get a new cover made in time. I figure the break even on a canvas compared to annual shrink wrapping is somewhere between three and four years. I think I will spend the extra money to have it sewn with GoreTex thread though.

Chris I like your idea for the hose, at the moment I can't speak to the stbd. drain but the port makes a 90 just below deck which would prohibit just about any size hose or tube from being snaked down.

MS, I made a quick Bimini to move the boat after purchase with something called Duck cloth that I got at the local fabric store it faded quite a bit in a few months so I'm guessing it is not Duck canvas. I have noticed that only a few boats in the yard are shrinkwrapped which leads me to wonder if the area doesn't necessitate a cover. A farmer friend seams to think that I shouldn't need to worry but I'm more active than passive when it comes to being prepared.
