Surface on my boat is worn and I want to apply the no-skid textured paint. Any advice is much appreciated...

Interlux

Interlux has a product that is an excellent non-skid. Not sure what it was called but it comes in a can. I mixed it 4 shot glasses per pint of paint and it produced a really professional finish. This can be purchased at any marine store where interlux is carried. Good Luck Murray

Thread with pictures.

There are many threads re. non-skid on HOW. The Related Link is one that I started a couple of weeks ago. Some ideas and pictures can be found there in the Cherubini forum.

Practical sailor rated the West stuff very high on

the list. I did my 27' cherubini last year. It came out pretty good looking. I sanded the entire deck with 100 grit sandpaper using a palm sander. Did a very careful job of masking ( use the better blue tape). I rolled the finish on using a foam roller and 2 coats. The key is preparation. Still the paint freqently to keep the grit in suspension.

West Marine non-skid

I did my H22 at the beginning of the season with the West Marine Grey non-skid. Just make sure the surface is clean and take your time. The prep work will take as long as the actual painting. It came out nice - got several compliments. The grey color is kind of dark, you may want to mix in some of their white non-skid to lighten it up a little.
