antifouling on a Kiwi prop

I have a Kiwi prop and sail in fresh water. I use Interlux VC-17m on the hull. Can I use this on the prop too or do I need to put an undercoating on it prior. Thanks.

I just paint it on the Kiwi with no other prep.
