I have some barnies and alge growth appearing on my antifouled surface on my fibreglass hull. How best to manage them ? I was thinking to use a soft broom to wipe the alge off gently and use the plastic back edge on the broom to bump the barnies off. Comments ? Cheers.

or get a diver. You'll need a wide putty knife or to scrape the barnacles off, and a heavy abrasive pad like the one on the back of those sponges to clean off the slime. Lowe's and Home Depot have the round buffer pads which can be cut down to hand size for that job. You don't say how old the bottom paint is but, it may be time to get a new bottom job.
