Has anyone out there tried the new Equal-i-zer brand anti-sway hitch that is designed to work with surge brakes? The hitch system costs approximately $500. H260's sway when transported - I hate being passed by a semi and meeting one can be even worse.

Anit-Sway Hitch?

Sounds like a knot to help minimize heeling :) Sorry: it was long long day and I needed a good laugh. Russell

weight balance

Sounds like you don't have enough weight on the hitch. Can you get the boat further forward on the trailer or move some heavy items forward in the boat. Engine, batteries, anchors, etc. That would make a huge difference in amount of sway. Jeff Peltier

Agreed

I was having a heck of time with sway when I brought the boat from the dealer to the club this summer - my first time towing something this big. However, with advice from the great members of this forum I removed the battery, the gas tank and put the engine in my truck and WOW what a difference that made! Granted, when I got passed by a semi I had a little shimmy, but nothing like the 'two lane tango' I experienced the first time I towed it. ;) The only thing I'll probably change is moving the engine onto a mount on the trailer ladder (over the tongue) to put a little more weight there. My dealer indicated that the 'wind sway' from big trucks wouldn't change much if I added the anti-sway devices. My two cents... Dave

Equalizer Hitch

Equalizer hitches have been used for many years on travel trailers. This type of hitch essentially ties both vehicles together into one unit eliminating hitch bounce and trailer sway. The Equal-i-zer hitch is the only one of it's type that is designed to work with surge brakes. There is a free video you can order to review their product. I've ordered one and I'll let you know how it works once I get it installed.

Tire Pressure

I have a terrible time with sway if my tire pressure in the truck and trailer are even a little off. The trailer tires should be at 50lbs, and the truck tire should be at their rated maximum. This helped me a lot.
