We live in Maine and are planning a trip south to Florida this fall for the winter. We need to haul out before we leave and clean & paint the bottom. We would like some input into what kind of paint to use that will last through the winter in Florida and through summer next year back in Maine. Thanks for any suggestions, Debbie

Hi Debbie, we used WM ablative on our boat...

two years ago and I just finished putting on two new fresh coats. Our boat is in salt water and we could have gotten a third season out of the original two coats. We're very pleased with the performance. Pick it up during their frequent sales. BTW, slather on a heavy coat of Desitin (zinc oxide) on all bright work (prop, prop shaft, etc.) while you're at it. It works wonders in keeping marine critters from growing. Terry

Ablative!!!!

Like Terry said, ABLATIVE! I know this is going to sound like BS, but I got 7 years out of 2 coats of ACP (so long ago, I think that's the brand/name) and my boat is in one of the worst parts of the Intercoastal Waterway. The stuff is/was awesome! Tom

Interlux Ultra

I'm on Galveston Bay and we have a lot of little beasties in the water here for about 8 months of the year while the water is relatively warm. I use Interlux Ultra exclusively and I get 2.5 yrs out of it. Of course, I quick-haul the boat once a year for a power wash, a quick look and new zincs. I won't use anything else.
