Last fall I purchased a Hunter 29.5 in trade. In '94, with the type of pedestal, apparently Hunter offered the wheel brake as an option (!!), and of course, my boat has no wheel brake. I contacted Edson, got the wheel brake assembly, and hope to install. The question with regard to either h29.5's or any other Hunters with similar pedestals (ie. BIG HONKERS)...has anyone else tried this. If so, How to??

Have brake will travel

Our 29.5 has a brake. I use it frequently when single handing the boat. I rarely lock it down hard/tight-just put enough resistance to make it hold while I put things away, change tapes, grab a food or beverage. Also, by having some resistance on the wheel while in port or at anchor, the wheel doesn't rock back and forth from waves/tides/etc

Edson Brake Instructions On-Line

Hi Tim - I would have thought you would have received a set of instructions with you brake. Seems like you didn't. In which case, there are instructions on the Edson web site at: http://www.edsonmarine.com/faq/eb972102.html Also, there is a link to a diagram. Suggest copying the information and adding it to your boat owners manual for future reference. Hope this helps.

Well, how about that!

Hey thanks John for the link. I did not think that Edson would have installation instructions online. I think I've got all I need now. I'll give it a go this weekend. Thanks again...
