Another Edson Pedestal Question

My throttle linkage interferes with my steering gear and chain assembly at low rpm settings. Does anyone know if this is an adjustment problem or cable length or something else? I suspect the cable may be damaged internally but really have no clue. Throttle control is good but interference problem seems to be getting progressively worse. I have a 90 Hunter 35.5.

take it apart

There are several other threads about the cables right now. It's not all that ahard to take apart, I recommend pulling the compass and checking it. There may be something loose, a cotterpin sticking out, a broken part or who knows what? It's not that complicated and you can do it with no special tools.
