So envious. My boat is half yours and my drone is phone on the end of a stick. LOL

Very nice and well done.

Well done! I want one. Is there a trendy name for a drone selfie ;)

Thanks all. Appreciate the feedback, its a bit of effort to create this stuff.

WOW
I have made a couple of videos with a drone and they cannot hold a candle to yours. Great Job.
Thanks for sharing.

Awesome, I've made one that was bare bones and it took nearly an hour, how long did that take, curiosity killed the cat but not me!

The flying consisted of 2 10 minute flights. So load the backpack into the dink, go ashore, set up and fly; probably an hour total.

The editing was around 2 to 4 hours, cant remember exactly. I've edited about 150 videos in the last 4 years, many under a deadline. So I have plenty of practice.

Is the drone that steady or does the camera have some fuzzy logic to stabilize the video. The smoothness is the best part.

Steady in what way? Flying smoothly, where pans and tilts are not jerky takes practice, skill...and light air! That tiny little drone can get tossed about quite easily in gusty winds. But also, I've been operating film and video cameras for 30 years including a wide variety of remote control cameras on cranes. So some of the feel of a light touch is from a lot of experience. The hardest part is getting used to the very slight signal delays from the controller to the drone and back to my monitor. DJI is getting better at shortenimg that lag. I noticed a difference between my Phantom 2 (Luca Bratzi) and my Phantom 3.

It's always a balance. I really like the video I get from the A6300, the horizon is dead-arse flat, but the controller isn't as solid as the Tarot for the GoPro. Fix it in the mix!
You got some nice shots!

Drones get a bad name from bad users.

This one is another paint brush in the artist's satchel. Beautiful.

Yep. It's certainly a tool in the photo arsenal, and considering how hard they are to fly in conditions that sailboats like to work in, ie; wind, getting good video is tricky, and coordinating something like that with a minuscule battery life is a trick in itself.

Allegedly 22 minutes of battery time. Depending on the situation, I start to retrieve at around 50%. So I figure 10 minutes of actual fly time. I've never ended below 35%, flying over water.

I am way to chicken to fly off my boat under sail. Too hard to land. I have shot others boats from mine but we were under power. Stop our boat, launch drone. While I fly, wife chases with our boat. Time to land, stop boat and retrieve by grabbing it out of the air. Still tricky with any breeze plus minor boat movement.

Nice video. I have the splashdrone auto plus. Take off and land in water.
