Another Anchor Question

When conditions warrant it--IMO--and I want to add a Navy type anchor to my rode chain above my Danforth, would it be better to add Navy about 10+/-feet above Danny or would it be better attached below Dan? Boat is Grampian 23. Often have high winds, that don't make high waves, but challenge just the same...
Suggestions will be appreciated.

Are you using it as a kellet? I don't understand why any conditions would warrant that other than using it as a dead weight/kellet to aid with caternary..

Wouldn't it be simpler

Depending on the bottom conditions where you are, why don't you just go up in anchor size? If you have good holding bottom, the danforth holds as good as any.
If you are thinking the navy anchor will help in any way other than the weight, you may just be wishing. I would either go up one or two sizes with the anchor, or just add a weighted kellet.

I think Navy anchors are wonderful if you measure them in tons! I think that almost anything else is better when measured in pounds.

So, what yer all suggesting in a round-about way, just throw Navy over along with Danforth to add weight???
That's what I was originally thinking. But then wondered -- "What if...???"
Seems nothing gained but weight by rodeing them together???

Kellet

As I understand it, a kellet is a weight fixed to the rode in various ways that rides above the bottom. It holds the rode at a low angle so it pulls at a more advantageous angle and it helps absorb shock.
