What kind of freshwater storage tank did the 222's have? Did they use a bladder type tank, or a solid plastic rectangular tank? How was the tank plumbed? Anyone have photos of the original setup?

Mine has a plastic removable tank (with a handle) under the v-berth. A plastic hose attaches to the bow-end of the tank and then goes back to the pump on the sink. It works well when the pump works (mine needs to be fixed). I need to take the camera to the boat to get pics. I'll try to do that this weekend.

O'Day dave,
I appreciate it! Could you measure it? Please see if there is some form of manufacturers markings also. I'm having a tough time finding a suitable replacement.

Zoomie,
My fresh water tank is 11 1/2" high, 13 1/2" long, and 8 1/2" wide. It has the tube also. Mine has the words,-- Riblet RV Products Division, Elkhart Indiana 46514 The words are imbossed into the plastic on my tank. There's a shield figure to the upper right with the works, "IAPMO" which is probably an Approval stamp with numbers on it. Then it has a blue sticker with the word "Water" in big letters, along with the words "Tuco" J-2 Elkhart, Indiana 46515 Phone 219 262-2581 I couldn't find any other info on this tank in my O'Day Owner's manual.

Well, after a great deal of research I've come up empty! I cannot find a suitable replacement for my freshwater tank!!! When I bought my boat the factory one was missing. I checked Todd, Ronco etc with no luck. The size of the tank resembles a gasoline container (short squat, with a vent). Do you folks have any ideas? Anyone want to sell their spare or unused tank? Luckily my sink hand pump seems to work fine.

Zoomie,
I found a site that has marine water storage tanks for boats. http://www.plastic-mart.com/class.php?cat=30
These tanks don't look like the one that came with the 222, but if it fits it will work. They will install whatever size fitting that you'll need. You can call them or IM them and ask questions. Ask them if they have the clear tube with the fitting on it. This is needed for the pump to draw water near the bottom of the tank. I'm not sure about this, but I think that the hose needs to enter the top of the tank so that water always remains in the hose for the prime. This is why the tube in the tank is needed. Measure your water hose and threaded cap that fits on the tank from the pump and give them those measurements. Carefully measure the area where the tank will sit in the bow. You can always check some other sites for these tanks to get a cheaper price. Flexible tanks are also available for boats. I don't care for them, but they have them. They may want to know what type and make galley pump your going to use. If your galley pump is like mine, it's a Fynspray WS-60 galley pump. Check this site to make sure: http://www.imtra.com/ My youngest son lives right down the road from this place which is located in an industrial park in New Bedford Ma. Last year I needed the service washer/packing kit for my galley pump and he was able to drive to their warehouse and buy it for me. I saved on shipping costs. Good luck!
