Here is panoramic view of the Annapolis Boat show.
It's a mosaic of images from a nearby webcam.

Sorry about the image registration in spots, and the roof in the shot.

Back from the show

I am just back from the Annapolis Boat Show. Missed last year so looking for new stuff. Not much of that.

The new Benneteau line looks really good.

The Hobie kayaks and inflatable kayaks are great. The folding propellers get better and better. There is now a 4 blade folder. Is 5 next?

But the main thing of the show was the new Hunter 50cc. This is the best Hunter in many years. A huge improvement over the 49. The cockpit is excellent. The gangways are a reasonable width, thank goodness. About 15 or 16 inches. The stern is better, I think. The aft sundeck area is fantastic. the best of any boat of its size. This is hull no 1 and about 20 changes are coming in boat no 2, but it is an excellent boat as is. It has a shocking hot tub under the aft bed. I am not kidding. Also has a washer dryer. I would not want either, but still .. . . .

The Hunter 50 cc is an awesome boat

Good Show

This was the first time in over ten years that I've gone to the show.
I'm proud of myself. Only succumbed slightly to the Candy Store syndrome.
But the stuff I bought were things that were actually needed.
Sort of....
Just couldn't walk away from that boat hook/pump/brush/squirter....

Stopped at the Hunter dock and found my slip neighbors working there.
Told them that I'd take two of the H-50s.

I was talking to a guy who was working for the show. He told me all sorts of things about it. For instance, they start on the dock work just after Labor Day. How many miles of fire hose was laid on the bottom for water distribution. Power ditribution. And the logistical dance of placing the docks and moving in the boats.

And how they had to pull it apart and put it back together for this weekends show.

Yep. The Hunter 50 sure is a Dock Queen

Made to order for the boater (I was going sailor but caught myself) that wants all the luxuries of home and never leaving the dock.

A jacuzzi/hot tub !? Come on, thats an embarrassment. I thought the exposure of excesses from Wall Street mentality we out of vogue. I guess not with the Hunter 50 Jacuzzi special.

Should stay Monday evening and watch the break down

One year Peggy Hall got me to stay and it is the wildest mess you have ever seen. All those boat leave in about 90 minutes. People are all hanging out cheering and drinking....:)
