I was suppose the be sailing

I'd hope to take a week off this next week to sail south for a while. The weather does not look good for this weekend and beyond. I use to love the boat show every year but now each time I go I get a parking ticket. That takes a lot of the fun out of it. Anyway I'd rather be sailing.

Go to the show

Three years ago I worked the show for four days and all it did was rain. Everyone had fun. There are large tents where to buy stuff and the crowds are not as large. Was able to get on any boat I wanted. What the hell it's only water. :) Looks like it is going to rain all weekend. I will be there on Monday. Spend Spend Park at the Navy football stadium and take the buses to the show. No parking tickets. Be ready with your rain coats. Jim S/V Java

Bring a raincoat

I went on Thursday. Rained some, not as bad as it is now though. It is a great scene though. It was my first time, I was suffering from Sensory Overload. Don't miss it, it's a great time.

Show was great

Got back last night. The rain was great. Kept the crowd down and no waiting to see boats. Went on the new Hunter 45. Captain Woody, fresh from his 2 year world journey, is at the Latitudes & Attitudes booth! Got to meet him and talk about his trip. This was the roughest show I have been to in 20 years. Almost got seasick below deck because the boats were rocking so much in the terrible weather. But we had a blast and it sure beats a hot crowded day.

Back Home From show

My first annapolis show was great,I got to see and go on boats that I just see from a far. I love those big cat boats they are great in and out, trying to do a charter on one down in BVI some day soon. We really like the hunter 36 and talked to mike and caroline from norton's where I did buy my 290 about tradeing my 290 for a 36 and they would give me a great deal,we are still thinking about doing now or wait until we retire to florida in two years. My wife said maybe when we sail down to florida it will be good to trade boats on the trip down. nick

I'm reading Capt. Woody's last installment now. Would have loved to meet him and Tania, and chat about their adventures.

Would not miss it!

I went and had a great time. Picked up everything, including my first sailboat. Now I am chomping at the bit to see her in 2 weeks. I am working on getting all the equipment for her setup now.

Annapolis--SailTime

Did anyone see the booth for SailTime at Annapolis? Just wondering what anyone here thought of "fractional sailing?" They use Hunters exclusively and I would like to know what Hunter owners think of the program.

Fractional sailing opinion JMHO

It depends on the person. I like to fiddle with, modify, personalize my boats. This is not something you can do with a boat you do not own. At the same time, you do not have to worry about maintaining the boat. But, depending on your location, you may have to think about availability. In the long run, I would bet that you end up paying more for the boat and maintenance vs owning one and working on it yourself. The real question is what kind of a man are you? Do you just want a boat to go out on, or a boat that becomes an extension of yourself? Take no insult it is not intended as such even though it could be read that way. I am not a linguist so I will just be frank.

Judging by

how many other boat owners I see at the docks (and we have a busy dock according to some), I'd say sail-time is a great idea for most people who want to day sail.
