Father and Son Day
My 6.5 year old and I went on Monday after an early morning dentist visit (pre-orthodontics). We arrived around 10:30 (are we there yet?) and scurried over to the Vanguard booth. The crowd was light so we were able to get The Boy a ride in a pram without waiting. He took the tiller and a pretty instructor out and did a figure 8. THAT's my BOY! The crowd was still light when he got back so we hopped on the Nomad demo but and flew out into the harbor with another father and son (Carl and Carl Jr.). The boat was a lot of fun, especially with the little assym. The rest of the day was spent bouncing from boat to boat (Dad, lets play hide and seek), checking out the furler, mast, and halyard demos (thats a sheet...the blue one... and thats a halyard...the red one...I don't know. Everything has a name...) and finding the closest bathroom. But the real hit was the trampolines on the big catamarans. The only way to get him off one was to show him a bigger one. We wrapped it up with a stop at Storm Bros. Ice Cream. Pretty good day all in all. Thanks to all the vendors for putting up with us. Markdb
