We are thinking of going to the Boat Equipment Consignment show before heading to the Annapolis boat show. Has any one been there before? how big is it?? I am looking for a used outboard engine will they have them?? and is it worth going to shop for gear?? Thanks Rob

You will find all sors of things there. Take a list of what you need (desire) for your boat. Be sure to ask if you don't see what you want. Also, consider using them to get rid of gear you don't need. Mark

This consignment event used to be called the "Boaters Accessory Market" or something similar. Not sure if the current one listed above is operated by the same people, but it's in the same location (Backyard Boats in Eastport). It's a fun event to go to, even though you have to pay to get in the door in order to buy something (which always strikes me as bizarre). Anyway, it you know what you want (i.e, an outboard, etc.) it's best to plan on goingthere the first day and going early. The last time I was there, they (1) did have outboards for sale, and (2) people lined up early to get the first shot at whatever they were looking for.

Not worth it!!
This show is heavily advertised, and costs $5 (If I remember correctly or might be $10) but IMHO is not worth it. I went on Friday of the show. Very little there and the prices were not very good at all. Most of the stuff looked like junk. however, if you are in the market for all kinds of lines, there was a lot of that. Directions. Not to bad of a walk if the weather is okay. From boat show, walk past the Marriot hotel and over the Eastport bridge. Turn leftSteak house. The entrance at the light, go about 3-4 blocks, in the next block after Ruth Cris steak house look to your left for a road that looks like an alley on the left and the bldg is kind of a mud orange color but there is a sign and the show is inside Back Yard boats. At least it was last year. have fun

Opps sorry about the mess up in the dirrections, editing skills need work. After you cross bridge, turn left at the light, go about 3 blocks. You will pass Ruth Chris steak house, in the next block, look to your right for an alley like road and a sign that says Back Yard boats.
