I'm going to the Annapolis boat show next weekend for the first time and I was wondering
Is there a reason to buy tickets, on line, in advance?
Is there something, outside of the the show, I must see?
Is there some place I must have dinner?

No, they are less expensive at the gate.

Yes.

Is there some place I must have dinner?
No. You drink at Boat Show. (the restaurants are packed)

Annapolis is an amazing place. There is a lot to do and a lot of good places to eat there.

The boat show is pretty cool. There is a lot to see and it is almost overwhelming. Make a short list of things that you want to do or look for. For Example: If you are wanting to look for equipment or other things put that on your list. I am not sure if there are super deals to be had but there are some out there.

If you there for a few days and want to get a break from Annapolis, go across the Bay bridge and take a look at St. Michaels. That is a great place to visit as well.

Access to the Navy Academy grounds is free.

"Annapolis is a drinking town with a sailing problem".

Pussers is right on site, gotta try at least one.
We never seem to have a problem finding a table for lunch nearby

But Pusser's Landing is a mediocre tourist restaurant at best.

All of us native 'Naptowners know that there is little in the way of really good food to be had right at the town dock. Cross the Spa Creek drawbridge to Blackwall Hitch for better fare, or to the Boatyard Bar and Grille or Davis Pub for good casual grub. Or hike up Main Street to one of many good, newish places, including Level and Dry 85. For sandwiches, go to Chick & Ruth's or Mason's Lobster Rolls.

Or better yet, grab a cab out to Parole and eat really good pan-Latin food at bargain prices at Sin Fronteras (and the best Margaritas in town).

Eat and drink like a native.

For a quick lunch Pussers is pretty good but the real reason to go is for the Pain Killer.

Lots of good suggestions there

For lunch, I always eat a roast beef sandwich and have a beer at the fleet reserve club..the second deck has a good view of the show. Agree with others that Boatyard and Davis Pub are good spots. If you go on Monday be sure to stay to watch the breakdown of the show and the exodus of boats from the second deck of the fleet reserve club or pusser's.

Where is the best place to park? I've never been to the show. I'd like to drive down Saturday morning for one day. Should I expect huge crowds due to it being a weekend? Where should I go to park our car? Thanks in advance for any help you folks can give me.

If you can get into Eastport early , the school at the Eastport end (6th St.) of the Spa Creek bridge parks cars in the field. $20(?) to benefit the PTA (I think it is). Otherwise, park at the Navy stadium and take the free shuttle to the show.

We've always found parking on the street in Eastport on a Friday. The walk is good for you. Saturday may be more difficult, but not if you arrive early, I'd bet.

There is easy parking at the USNA Memorial stadium parking lots just off Rowe Blvd. Easy shuttle service to and from the show.

There are lots of good places depending upon your preferences. As for must, Middleton Tavern perhaps.
The only thing Middleton's has going for it is history. Good food for the money certainly isn't one.

If you must eat at City Dock, McGarvey's is better... if you can get in.

I vote for the parking at the Navy stadium. It is 10 bucks and includes a free shuttle that runs often. You will lose valuable time trying to chase down a parking spot and its iffy. Traffic is usually heavy. I plan on going today (Friday). I'll look for that shirt!

Another vote for the Maritime Republic of Eastport. There's also Cantler's for crabs. We're heading there early Saturday morning. I'll be wearing US yacht ensign shorts.
