I was wonder if I should wait to buy a new headsail and roller furler at the boat show or just buy it now. I also need a new traveler, same thing now or at the show. What kind of discounts can you find there. Thanks for your help

If you know exactly what you want, you may come across a good deal at the boat show. However when I was buying my roller furler, I found that the internet deals beat the boat show prices, and that I actually got the best deal from my local sailmaker who was a CDI dealer. He offered to match the best internet price. That price combined with the personal service was the best.

Wait for the Boat show.... Last year's show
deal was half price on Hood Seafurl 5 furling systems. Since this last winter was the year for replacing and upgrading the standing rigging on Sea Dragon, I went to the Annapolis Sailboat show looking for deals. I was able to buy two (2) furling systems for less than $2,900 inculding shipping, $900 less than I found anywhere else. I strongly suggest you go to first the manufacture of your current furling system and talk with them. I went to Hood and let them know that I would be replacing my old Hood system and what could they do to keep me as a customer. Before the end of the day I had a new Seafurl 5 H325 for $1,780 inculding pins & shipping and a new Seafurl 5 H253 for $1,097 including pins & shipping. The best price I could find on the internet was $2,199 plus shipping and $1,499 plus shipping. Good luck

...for the show. You will get many lofts there and the pricing will be competitive, so shop around for ALL types of equipment. Don't know where you are located, but the Newport show is two week's away.
