The next time someone pulls that "GEICO... 15 percent yadda yadda yadda" bit on you, you can reply,

" Well, did you know that the Boatyard Bar and Grill in Eastport/Annapolis is the number THREE of the ten best sailing/yachting bars in the world?" Yup.
" scuttlebuteurope.com " . Check out the website (I have not done so yet) for news in the sailing world. The world's favorite bar was "One Bar Playa Blanca" in Spain. Don't know which one was #2, but The Bitter End Yacht Club in the BVI's, The King and Queen Pub in the UK, and Schooner Wharf in Key West were in the running. CHEERS!

You have to love sailing into Annapolis. There is something very special and rewarding to do this. I have only done it a few times but it sure does warm the heart.

Boatyard Bar and Grill really is a great place. Love the oysters and Blue Moon. I also like the smaller and cozier Davis Pub not far away. Hard to compete with the Bitter End, however.... How many days until spring?

Always keep your outboard up and row home after you are leaving the bar! LOL. The worst that they can get you for if you are rowing is drunk in public. If the engine is going you can get a BUI.

We like Boatyard bar n grill very much but the contest was for bars and so for "bar" I would also vote Davis pub over Boatyard.
Both are great places to visit

Always partial to Davis's myself... and their crabcakes! I lived in Eastport for three years, loved that place!

Before the Boatyard B&G it was the Wharf and where Ruth Chris Steak House is now, it used to be Marmaduke's, which in my opinion was a great sailor's bar. The Boatyard sorta replaced it.

Really miss Marmaduke's, so much I won't go in that steakhouse that took over the old place.
