Hey all, Bly and I are going to be back at the show and would like nothing better than to meet you and put a beer in your hand. We're available to do that Saturday afternoon at 5pm... the question is where. We don't know the area surrounding the show all that well. Anyone have a suggestion? I'll post a firm time and place tomorrow. Looking forward to it! ph.

Pussers

The Marriott on the harbor front has a Pussers Pub overlooking the water, I believe. My guess is that it will be packed but the whole town is packed during the Sailboat Show.

What about McGarvey's?

Hi Phil, I was planning to attend on Friday, but now Saturday is looking to be the better weather day. McGarvey's Saloon is in the waterfront area -- just one suggestion, probably won't be as packed as the Marriott. They have a website: www.mcgarveyssaloon.com Hope to get a chance to meet! Eric

If my wifr is still talking to me

we'll do our best to stop by. It may be tough though, I hear they might have a few nice boats to look at, and I tend to get carried away around boats.

Local Says Welcome to Annapolis

My H37.5 "Tellico" is docked just a stone's throw from the show (literally.) I'll be around all weekend and plan to stop by McGarvey's. If anyone reads this posting at this late date, and needs advice, has questions, needs help, etc. of a local nature, email me at dcdon@hotmail.com. I'll reply with a phone #. Enjoy the area. It's the best. (And we really, really need the rain, so please don't think too bad of us.)

Parking?

Does anybody know just how hard it would be to park somewhere other than at the official lot? We usally park in a garage up by the Rams Head when we go to Annapolis...am I crazy?

All kinds of parking in Eastport

Several lots, including one at Viking Boat Supply, just across the Spa Creek Bridge from the show. If you get there before about 8:30, you should be able to find street parking...depending on where, walk across the bridge or take a water taxi. Kill time till the show opens by window shopping and having breakfast at Buddy's has a fantastic breakfast buffet on Saturday and Sunday...the city market also has lots of good food. Or, get into Annapolis Dock Street area (where the show is) *no later than" 8am, and park in the city deck, which is only a couple of blocks from the show. And I do mean "no later than"...by 8:05 it's usually full. Do NOT park at a meter and figure on just not paying the ticket if you're from out of state...they don't just ticket...they tow. And they enforce the time limits very strictly. Btw...the hot crab dip at McGarvey's is excellent....their crab cakes are only so-so. You're more likely to find an open table big enough for a group if you go to the back room and then upstairs.

Peggy's alway right - Go to Eastport

There are pay lots there (kinda pricey) and I've always found street parking even during the day. Annaapolis is restriced and they ticket religiously. Eastport is not restricted except where it's painted red. It's a few blocks accross the drawbridge to the show. Nice view of the creek (look left and you'll see my boat), yacht club, etc. Also, there is a back way into Eastport to avoid the crowds. Take Aris T Allen Blvd (667, I think) heading off Rte 50. Head out the pennisula and take a left partway out (just past the Safeway on the right.) Get over to Chesapeake Ave and that takes you into Eastport. See map - the locals take this route. Don't try to drive down through Annapolis, it's misery.
